This is my response to Kylie’s blog post 1
I was interested to read what you had to say about the profiling that takes place when data is analyzed and grouped by different platforms used in a classroom setting. It’s not really something one thinks about when using these forms of teaching tool, so I was pretty taken aback by finding out that that’s something that unfortunately occurs. I think you did a really eloquent description of it; talking about how that sort of grouping is discrimination as it doesn’t look at who the student is as a person, but rather profiling them based on one dimensional characteristics that only may or may not be a defining characteristic of who they are as a person.
